This is the second drawing I do this open cluster. I decided to portray under different viewing conditions, this time there was full moon and the idea is to compare both conditions of observation. The seeing was not very good, the atmosphere had desenfocaban image turbulence at times.
The drawing was done with paper and pencil, then processed in Photoshop to invert the colors and simulate the glow effect generated by the moon in the sky. Also I added some color to the stars, as I see through the eyepiece (huygens 25mm), but the colors are dimmed a little by fusing a celestial layer to set the tone of moonlight in the background. Actually should be blue and red brighter central star. The team I used to do the sketch is a reflector telescope Helios brand, 114mm aperture and 900mm focal length. The drawing was made from Parchment, Buenos Aires.
IC 405, Caldwell 31 or the Flaming Star Nebula is an emission/reflection nebula that requires darkness and patience to pull details out. A 12.5” reflector was used here to observe and a NPB filter from DMG optics helpful. I observed & sketched the same object 3 years ago and didn’t see the details visible this time around. I would partly account this to gaining greater ability from sketching the object again with more patience this time around.
Proper motion studies of AE Auriga show it to be an ejected star from the Orion Belt region. Its chance passage through this nebulous region of gas & dust give it a “Flaming Star” appearance.
Heavyweight white paper, 2B pencil, charcoal and brush.

Last week at the 26th. February I took the chance to make a sketch of the mutual moon cover. Of course, I also observed Jupiter. The air was not so good but in quite moments there were some details to hold.
All in all it was a real fantastic night. First ran Callisto and its shadow over the planet. Then Kallisto covered Europa and at last moved Io over the planetary disk followed by his shadow.
I enjoyed the Moment when Io covered Europe and sketched this nice scenery for my astro-log.

Muchas gracias Sofi!

In english (poor):
For my birthday my daughter Sofía, 9, did is beautiful composition “3D”. A rocket with a happy face towards the moon with a background of stars and clusters.
Sofia accompanies me in my passion for astronomy for several years. We use a 90/900 refractor telescope and binoculars 10×50, She is very enthusiastic and determined when handling the equatorial mount, specializes in finding satellites.
Aware of my passion for the man on the moon, and all those who were children in those years, she decided to make this surprise gift.
I send you sketches of an early outburst on comet Hale-Bopp!
The observations show the outburst and the expanding dust in the coma!
This is three old sketches, but I hope you enjoy them!
Read my info on the sketch, please!
I used pencil on white paper and inverted.
