NGC 6334 (Cat’s Paw Nebula)

Bonjour

Lunar Horizon Landscape

Lunar Landscape
Lunar Landscape

The most wonderful, amazing observation experience in my whole life was this, one of my 8″ refractor observation of the lunar near-horizon landscape, ….this imagination scene.

In the 82 degree bino-eyepieces some 30-40 lines group of villages of parallel mountains or canyons was seen,

it was some resemble the villages Grand Canyon in the Arizona USA .

I was regettable could not leave some fine detailed sketchs because the sketching only one of the lines of mountains -canyons need one or two hours work and ofcourse the lunation every month disturbed adequate shadow angle plus an amater,s observing time is limited , did not show me again the unforgettable scene that night .

I hope I ,ll challenge again with my newly projected equartorial machine bigger brother of 8″ and will leave some sketchs the whole scene [landscape area 300 x 300 km ].

It is my draw about Orion Nebula. Where im living the sky is difficult to see some objects because it have light pollution and others 🙂
In my Draw you can see the Orion nebula (m42) with the sky that I have.

May 5, 2013 I think I had a NELM alamost 6 mag (at my home in small Twon) .. marvelous night! Amazing clarity – good transparency and windless sky, … did an atmosphere very stable,

I’ve seen the spiral arms inside the hallo surrounded the white core of Wirlpool Galaxy.
The hallo was built of black and white swirls, they where quite visible .. definitely I’ve seen a bridge between the M51 and NGC 5195 and a few stars in the background!
I recommend You to observe this object in all apertures, it is always… beautiful!
Yours Robert

Hey I send my sketch of M2. This is one of my favourite objects of this type. M2 can be found in the constellation Aquarius. I have this zodiac sign 🙂 Sketch was made during today’s observations. The dark rural skies and a good telescope nicely break the cluster into individual stars.
I used a 2B pencil and black pen.
I greet:)

Transparency was not so good. Very much light polluted area. I was impressed with the craters I could see with my 10×50 binoculars, mounted on a tripod. My first digital sketch, this is.

Hey ASOD!

I got a visual observation of comet R1 (Lovejoy) this morning.
The coma was big and diffuse with a small (not stellar) false nucleus.
No tail was seen due to moonlight.
Lovejoy was easy to find in my 10 x 50 binos. Info on the sketch!
I have not seen comet Ison yet because of long periods with clouds.
I used graphite pencil on white paper and inverted in color.
I had to use 50x magn. on my telescope, higher magn. did not work much!
Location : Trondheim, Norway.

Best wishes from: Per-Jonny Bremseth.
