Media : graphite pencil on white paper

This sketch was made with a 250/1200 Dobsonian telescope, using a 24mm
wide-angle eyepiece and a UHC filter, in the courtyard of a pretty
mountain farm in the French Prealps.

    Fine, natural sketch.
    I’ve tried to catch “L’Croissant” using 200/1200 Dobson (using UHC filter), but my sketch has only 1/3 of your view.
    I wonder if it is matter of sky quality or the mirror size?

    Indeed I was gifted with a good transparency that evening, which is the most important for large faint nebulae like this one… I remember once seeing the same object, under an exceptional nightsky in the desert, and was able to see almost as much nebulosity with a 80mm refractor!
